Finding Details:
The member was found to have committed professional misconduct in that she:

contravened the standards of practice of the profession and engaged in dishonourable and unprofessional conduct in or about March 2016 by permitting individuals with no health-care purpose or other authorization into the nursing station and other areas of the workplace where they would reasonably be expected to view and have access to clients’ personal health information, by conducting personal business instead of attending to her nursing duties, and by participating in an informational discussion for her aspiring business without permission or authority, in or around the nursing station and other areas of the workplace visible to colleagues and clients; and

used a name other than her name, as set out in the register, and engaged in dishonourable and unprofessional conduct while providing or offering to provide services within the scope of practice of the profession, when she used the name Lee-Ann Cole and Leigh Cole during her employment, Leigh Cole on her LinkedIn profile and on the website for Milestone where she identified herself as a Registered Nurse and Leigh Cole-Nixey on a resume she submitted to an employer while she was seeking a nursing position.

The Discipline Committee ordered that the member’s certificate of registration be suspended for three months; required the member to appear before the panel to be reprimanded; and imposed the following terms, conditions and limitations on the member’s certificate of registration:
- Must successfully complete specified remedial activities
- Must inform employer(s) of results of discipline hearing
- Must inform College of all nursing employer(s) for a period of time
