Details:
The Ontario Court of Justice found the member guilty of:
- operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, contrary to Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The Ontario Court of Justice sentenced the member on May 14, 2014 to the following:
- a driving prohibition for 1 year;
- a fine; and
- a victim surcharge.

Finding Details:
The member was found to have committed professional misconduct in that she:
- was found guilty of an offence relevant to her suitability to practice the profession when she was found guilty of driving a motor vehicle while her ability to operate the vehicle was impaired by alcohol or a drug in May 2014;
- contravened a term, condition or limitation on her certificate of registration and engaged in dishonourable and unprofessional conduct by failing to report charges to CNO when she was charged in March 2014 with driving while impaired and failing or refusing to provide a sample; and when she was charged in June 2014 with assault, assault with a weapon and criminal harassment;
- contravened a provision of the Nursing Act, 1991, the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, or the regulations under either of those Acts, contravened a term, condition or limitation on her certificate of registration and engaged in dishonourable and unprofessional conduct by failing to report to CNO when she was charged with assault in April 2019; and when she was found guilty of driving a motor vehicle while her ability to operate the vehicle was impaired by alcohol or a drug in May 2014; and
- contravened a provision of the Nursing Act, 1991, the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, or the regulations under either of those Acts, and engaged in dishonourable and unprofessional conduct when she failed to report to CNO her agreement to conditions in order to be released from custody, in relation to the charge of assault.

The Discipline Committee ordered that the member’s certificate be suspended for four months, required the member to appear before the Panel to be reprimanded; and imposed the following terms, conditions and limitations on the member’s certificate of registration:
- Must successfully complete specified remedial activities
- Must inform employer(s) of results of discipline hearing
- Must inform CNO of all nursing employer(s) for a period of time

The member was found to have committed professional misconduct in that she:
- was found guilty of the criminal offences of breaking and entering, breach of a recognizance and mischief, which were relevant to her suitability to practise the profession;
- engaged in conduct considered to be disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional by breaking into a private home, physically assaulting a person in the home using a weapon, driving a motor vehicle while impaired as a result of alcohol and drug ingestion; and communicating with persons in circumstances where she was the subject of a recognizance which required her to refrain from communicating with them.
