Details:
It is alleged that the member committed professional misconduct in that the member:

contravened the standards of practice of the profession and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional conduct in or around December 2019 to January 2020, when the member’s documentation with respect to six patients was inconsistent, misleading and/or inaccurate; by failing to adequately assess, document, and/or initiate appropriate interventions on two occasions; by failing to correctly handle and/or administer medication on 4 occasions; and in or about August 2020, by making inappropriate and/or unprofessional comments to colleagues about the member’s manager stating words to the effect of she “is a fucking bitch”; and/or posting inappropriate and/or unprofessional comments about the member’s manager on Facebook; and/or

failed to keep records as required in or around December 2019 to January 2020 by creating false, inaccurate, or incomplete medical records with respect to six patients.
It is alleged that the member is incompetent, contravened the standards of practice of the profession and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional conduct in or around August 2020 in that the member:

failed to complete a competency assessment and made numerous errors during shifts supervised by nurse educators, including: failing to apply basic infection control practices; demonstrating unsafe medication practices, including lack of knowledge of medications, inappropriate narcotic wastage, and/or failing to clean intravenous ports/IV lines; failing to prioritize patient care needs; frequently omitting and/or not completing patient pain assessments; failing to organize care appropriately or initiate care interventions; failing to transfer accountability appropriately; making multiple errors and omissions in clinical documentation; and/or failing to protect privacy and confidentiality.

Details:
The following terms, conditions and limitations have been imposed on the member’s certificate of registration on an interim basis until the matter is disposed of by the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee or the Discipline Committee:
- The Member must inform any nursing employer that their conduct is being investigated by CNO, in respect of:
- Medication Administration
- Documentation
- Care of patients
- Interactions with patients and co-workers
- Professionalism
- Demonstration of knowldge, skill and judgement.
- Within 14 days of commencing or continuing employment in a nursing position the Member must provide the Director, Professional Conduct with the following:
- Written notification of the name, address and telephone number of the employer;
- A signed statement from the employer confirming that the employer:
- has been informed that a report of concerns has been sent to CNO and that CNO is investigating these concerns;
- has received a copy of the Interim Order and is aware of the restrictions; and
- agrees to immediately notify the Director upon receipt of reasonable information that the Member has breached the standards of practiceof the profession.
- The Member must not engage in the independent practice of nursing or through an agency.
- The Member must practice under the supervision of another member of CNO.
