The Ontario Court of Justice found the member guilty of:
- theft of a value not exceeding five thousand dollars, contrary to Section 334(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The Ontario Court of Justice sentenced the member on August 16, 2016 to the following:

Finding Details:
The member was found to have committed professional misconduct between March 2015 and August 2016 in that she:
- was found guilty of an offence relevant to her suitability to practice and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct when she stole narcotics from a facility, the value of which did not exceed $5,000;
- contravened a term, condition or limitation on her certificate of registration and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct when she failed to provide the Executive Director of the College with the details of the criminal charge of theft and finding of guilt of theft made against her;
- contravened the Nursing Act, 1991 and engaged in disgraceful, dishonorable and unprofessional conduct when she failed to file a written report with the Executive Director of the College after being found guilty of theft;
- misappropriated property from her workplace, contravened the standards of practice of the profession and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct on one or more occasions by signing out controlled substances for administration to clients and failing to administer or dispose of those controlled substances;
- failed to keep records as required, contravened the standards of practice of the profession and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct on one or more occasions by signing out controlled substances for administration to clients without charting the need for it and failing to record the administration or disposal of controlled substances on the Medication Administration Record; and
- contravened the standards of practice of the profession and engaged in disgraceful, dishonorable and unprofessional conduct on one or more occasions by signing out controlled substances for administration to clients without conducting an adequate assessment of the need for the controlled substance, by signing out controlled substances when her assessment did not warrant their administration and when her assessment did not warrant the dosage being signed out, and by documenting the administration of scheduled medication to clients at times inconsistent with when she signed out the medication.

The Discipline Committee ordered that the member’s certificate of registration be suspended for five months; required the member to appear before the panel to be reprimanded; and imposed the following terms, conditions and limitations on the member’s certificate of registration:
- Must successfully complete specified remedial activities
- Must inform employer(s) of results of discipline hearing
- Must inform College of all nursing employer(s) for a period of time
