Finding Details:
The member was found to have committed professional misconduct from June 2015 to August 2016 in that she:
- contravened the standards of practice of the profession, failed to keep records as required and engaged in dishonourable and unprofessional conduct when she was working as a triage nurse in the emergency department, by failing to complete the triage process for a patient, including failing to document that the patient had visited the facility, any care or treatment provided to the patient and any interactions with the patient; and
- contravened the standards of practice of the profession and engaged in dishonourable and unprofessional conduct by speaking to a colleague in a raised voice or in an unprofessional manner within earshot of other colleagues and patients, making disrespectful comments about a colleague or colleagues within earshot of other colleagues, failing to arrange for a patient to be assessed by a physician when such an assessment was warranted and by communicating inappropriately with a member of a patient’s family.

The Discipline Committee ordered that the member’s certificate of registration be suspended for four months; required the member to appear before the panel to be reprimanded; and imposed the following terms, conditions and limitations on the member’s certificate of registration:
