Details:
The Superior Court of Justice found the member guilty of:
- Unlawfully by deceit, falsehood or other fraudulent means defrauding an individual of a sum of money of a value exceeding five thousand dollars, contrary to Section 380(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The Superior Court of Justice sentenced the member on December 19, 2017 to the following:
- 90 days in jail;
- 12 months probation including, but not limited to the following conditions:
- remain at least 100 metres away from certain individuals;
- must not communicate with or be in the presence of individuals specified by the court; - A 3-year prohibition order prohibiting the member from seeking, obtaining or continuing any employment, or becoming or being a volunteer in any capacity, that involves having authority over the real property, money or valuable security of another person, except where the member has advised her employer and any person in her care of her conviction;
- 200 hours community service; and
- a restitution order.
