Finding Details:
The member was found to have committed professional misconduct in February to August 2015 with respect to seven patients in that she:
- contravened the standards of practice of the profession and engaged in unprofessional conduct by failing to complete proper assessments of five patients, failing to provide accurate and factual documentation based on assessment findings in relation to one patient when she relied on someone else’s assessment and finding rather than her own, failing to provide a full report to ensure proper transfer of care of one patient, failing to provide appropriate care by not reporting three patients’ conditions to the Most Responsible Physician, not assessing two patients’ blood pressure in accordance with an order, administering medication to one patient contrary to the physician’s orders and failing to read the patient chart to hold medication, not initiating the physician’s order to transfuse one patient post paracentesis and not documenting the amount of fluid withdrawn from the patient; and
- failed to keep records as required by failing to complete proper assessments of five patients, failing to provide accurate and factual documentation based on assessment findings in relation to one patient when she relied on someone else’s assessment and finding rather than her own; failing to fully and accurately document with respect to two patients and by failing to document the amount of fluid withdrawn from one patient.
