Finding Details:
The member was found to have committed professional misconduct in that she:
-
sexually abused two patients, contravened the standards of practice of the profession and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct between September 2016 and October 2017 when she engaged in sexual intercourse with the patients on more than one occasion; engaged in touching of a sexual nature of the patients; and engaged in behaviour and remarks of a sexual nature towards the patients; and

contravened the standards of practice of the profession and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct between September 2016 and January 2017 by breaching the therapeutic boundaries of the nurse-patient relationship when she engaged in a personal and sexual relationship with a patient; in March 2017 by breaching the therapeutic boundaries of the nurse-patient relationship with another patient and their spouse, including but not limited to disclosing personal information about her sex life to the spouse and the patient; and between March and October 2017 by breaching the therapeutic boundaries of the nurse-patient relationship with the patient, including but not limited to engaging in a personal and sexual relationship with the patient, exchanging messages over social media, and socializing with the patient outside of the facility for non-therapeutic purposes.

The Discipline Committee ordered that the member’s certificate of registration be revoked immediately, required the member to appear before the panel to be reprimanded and required the member to reimburse CNO for funding up to the amount of $10,000 under the program required by s. 85.7 of the Health Professions Procedural Code.
