Details:
The Ontario Court of Justice found the member guilty of:
- 6 counts of assault, contrary to Section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The Ontario Court of Justice sentenced the member on February 15, 2017 to the following:
- 30 days in jail;
- two years’ probation including, but not limited to the following conditions:
- must not have any direct or indirect contact with individuals specified by the court;
- must not be in employment or provide professional services to persons who are to receive the benefit of a trust relationship through personal care.

Finding Details:
The member was found to have committed professional misconduct with respect to two clients in that he:
- was found guilty of six criminal offences, including assault, which is relevant to his suitability to practise the profession; and
-
abused a client physically and emotionally, contravened the standards of practice of the profession and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct in 2015 when he punched a client in the face with a closed fist, struck a client in the head and face with a closed fist, pulled a client’s pants and adult guard off and threw the soiled adult guard on the ground beside a garbage pail, pointed to the garbage to have the client pick it up, stepped on the clients hand then grabbed their arm roughly, struck the client on the side of the head with a closed fist, yanked the client from the toilet forcefully, grabbed a client’s hand to make them tuck their bed sheet into their mattress, pushed a client’s chair twice into a table, urinated in a client’s bathroom with the client present and struck them in the head with his fist, entered a client’s shower and punched them in the face with his fist, grabbed a client’s arm pulling them towards him, grabbed the back of the client’s neck and forced the client towards the garbage and struck a client in the face with a hairbrush.
