The Florida County Court found the member guilty of:
- careless driving contrary to Section 316.1925(1) of the Florida Statues (2016).
The Florida County Court sentenced the member on June 20, 2017, to the following:
- a fine; and
- defensive driving school.

Finding Details:
The member was found to have committed professional misconduct between 2010 and 2017 in that she:
- was found guilty of offences in the State of Florida relevant to her suitability to practice the profession, contravened a term, condition and limitation of her certificate of registration, and contravened a provision of the Nursing Act, 1991, the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 or the regulations under either of those Acts, and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct when she was found guilty of disorderly conduct, resisting/obstructing an officer, and failing to report those findings of guilt to the Executive Director of the College;
- contravened a term, condition and limitation of her certificate of registration, and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct when she failed to report charges to the Executive Director, namely that she was charged in the State of Florida with driving under the influence of alcohol or chemical substance, and driving under the influence of alcohol or chemical substance while driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit or while driving with a person under 18 years of age in the vehicle; and
- contravened a term, condition and limitation of her certificate of registration, contravened a provision of the Nursing Act, 1991, the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 or the regulations under either of those Acts, and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct by failing to report to the Executive Director of the College that she was found guilty of careless driving in the State of Florida.

The Discipline Committee ordered that the member’s certificate of registration be suspended for 5 months; required the member to appear before the panel to be reprimanded; and imposed the following terms, conditions and limitations on the member’s certificate of registration:
- Must successfully complete specified remedial activities
- Must inform employer(s) of results of discipline hearing
- Must inform College of all nursing employer(s) for a period of time

Finding Details:
The member was found to have committed professional misconduct in that she:
- was found guilty of operating a vessel while impaired by alcohol which is relevant to her suitability to practise the profession;
- contravened a term, condition or limitation on her certificate of registration and engaged in unprofessional conduct between March 2010-January 2011 by failing to provide the College with details of a proceeding for and a finding of professional misconduct; and
- failed to take reasonable steps to ensure that information she was required to provide to the College was provided in a complete an accurate manner, specifically that she was currently practicing nursing in the State of Florida, and listing an employer in the State of Florida as her current employer on her 2011 Annual Membership Renewal Form at a time when her license to practice nursing in the State of Florida was suspended.
