Details:
The member was found to have committed professional misconduct by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario in that he:
- sexually abused a patient;
- abused a client verbally or physically;
- engaged in conduct or performed an act, relevant to the practice of the profession, that, having regard to all the circumstances, would reasonably be regarded by members as disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional; and
- engaged in conduct that would reasonably be regarded by members as conduct unbecoming a massage therapist.

The Discipline Committee of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario ordered that the member’s certificate of registration be revoked, the member be required to appear before the panel to be reprimanded, and required the member to reimburse the College for costs in the amount of $60, 000, as well as reimburse the College for funding under the program required by s. 85.7 of the Health Professions Procedural Code.

Finding Details:
The member was found to have committed professional misconduct between 2014 and 2017 in that he:
- was found to have committed acts of professional misconduct by the governing body of another health profession when the Discipline Committee of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, in September 2017, found that he sexually abused a client, verbally or physically abused a client and engaged in conduct relevant to the practice of the profession which would reasonably be regarded by members as disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional and as conduct unbecoming a massage therapist;
- contravened a term, condition or limitation of his certificate of registration and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct by failing to provide the College with details of a proceeding for professional misconduct, incompetency or incapacity, and in particular, the proceeding before the Discipline Committee of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario that resulted in the Order dated September 13, 2017; and
- contravened a term, condition or limitation of his certificate of registration and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct by failing to provide the College with details of a finding of professional misconduct, incompetency or incapacity, and in particular, the Order of the Discipline Committee of the College of Massage Therapists dated September 13, 2017.
