Finding Details:
The member was found to have committed professional misconduct in that he:
- abused a client verbally and emotionally, contravened a standard of practice of the profession and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct in May or June 2017, February 2019 and on at least one occasion between June 2017 and February 2019 by telling an offensive and/or inappropriate story in the presence of at least one patient when he recounted inappropriate statements he made to a prison inmate while practicing nursing at a prison;
- failed to keep records as required, contravened the standards of practice of the profession and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct in February 2017 by failing to document unsuccessfully attempting a 1-person transfer of a patient and failing to document that a second patient had fallen; and
- contravened a standard of practice of the profession and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct in February 2017 by attempting a 1-person transfer of a patient when a 2-person transfer was required and by administering medication to a second patient without authorization.

The Discipline Committee ordered that the member’s certificate of registration be suspended for three months; required the member to appear before the panel to be reprimanded; and imposed the following terms, conditions and limitations on the member’s certificate of registration:
- Must successfully complete specified remedial activities
- Must inform employer(s) of results of discipline hearing
- Must inform College of all nursing employer(s) for a period of time
