Finding Details:
The member was found to have committed professional misconduct in that the member:
- sexually abused a patient; contravened the standards of practice of the profession and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct between April 2018 to March 2019, by engaging in sexual intercourse with the patient while the patient was attending group therapy sessions co-facilitated by the member;
- sexually abused patients; contravened the standards of practice of the profession; and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct between September to November 2019 in relation to two different patients by engaging in physical sexual relations and/or touching of a sexual nature and/or behaviour and remarks of a sexual nature while the patients were attending group therapy sessions co-facilitated by the member;
- contravened the standards of practice of the profession; and engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct by failing to maintain the boundaries of the therapeutic nurse-client relationship when the member, while co-facilitating group therapy sessions attended by five patients:
- engaged in a personal and sexual relationship with two patients between September and November 2019;
- engaged a personal relationship in the spring and summer of 2018 and had sexual intercourse between April 2018 and March 2019 with a third patient;
- engaged in a personal relationship with a fourth patient in the spring and summer of 2018; and
- added a fifth patient as a friend on multiple social media platforms in 2019; and
- engaged in disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional conduct between September to November 2019, by practicing the professional while in a conflict of interest in that the member provided health care to a patient when the member previously had a personal and sexual relationship with the patient.

- The Discipline Committee ordered that the member’s certificate of registration be revoked immediately, required the member to appear before the panel to be reprimanded and required the member to reimburse CNO for funding up to the amount of $5,000 for each patient under the program required by s. 85.7 of the Health Professions Procedural Code.
